First Lancashire Team Qualifies for HOYS Mounted Games

Pendle Forest and Craven Hunt Pony Club – Their Journey To HOYS

We’re delighted to announce that we’ll be supporting Pendle Forest and Craven Hunt Pony Club on their journey to Horse Of The Year Show 2019 (HOYS).

Deemed as one of the biggest events in the equestrian calendar, The Horse Of The Year Show is described as the ultimate celebration of the horse. This year over 1,500 competitors will be flocking to participate in the action packed show, which will be taking place between 2nd – 6th October at the NEC, Birmingham. Visitors can expect to find over 250 trade stands, world class displays and nail bitingly intense competitions.

 Pendle Forest and Craven Hunt Pony Club

The Pendle Forest and Craven Hunt Branch of the pony club was established in 1935. The branch  is part of the Pony Club Area 4,  covering  North East Lancashire, extending into North Yorkshire.

Their Story

Throughout the year over 300 teams have been battling it out to be recognised as one of the five best pony club mounted games teams in the country.  Winners of qualifying competitions receive a place to compete in the Horse Of The Year Show Prince Phillip Cup final.

On 20th July 2019 Pendle Forest and Craven Hunt pony club fought hard and won their spot to take part in this prestigious competition. This huge achievement marks the first time any team from their club has made it to the final of this competition and perhaps even more impressively makes them the very first Lancashire team to qualify for this event at The Horse Of The Year Show.

Meet The Team

The team  that will be competing is made up of five riders;

  • Daisy Cook (14) riding Strawberry

We would like to wish  the team the very best of luck! Will you be cheering for them on the day?
