The Korsteel Chifney is designed to help the handler have more control when leading difficult horses or those who are known to rear. The V shaped mouth piece puts pressure on the horse's tongue should the horse try to rear.
The Korsteel Chifney is a very effective tool but must be used with care as the Korsteel Chifney is a severe bit.
