Shires Brass Alloy Hanging Cheek Snaffle.
The Hanging Cheek Snaffle is a double jointed bit that works on the tongue and the bars of the mouth. The lozenge is ideal for horses who do not accept the nut cracker action of a traditional jointed bit and offers them something to play with, helping to encourage mouthing and salivation resulting in a horse with a soft and relaxed mouth.
The Hanging Cheeks exert a small amount of poll pressure making it easier for the rider to ask the horse for flexion and softness at the poll.
The Shires Bit is made with a brass alloy to produce a more palatable bit that is warmer in the mouth than stainless steel for the horse and helps to encourage acceptance and salivation.
Copper is alloyed with brass to produce a durable metal bit.
